The primary responsibility of the Board of Trustees is to see that the School operates in the best interests of its students, teachers, and parents. The Board sets the purpose and policies of the School, ensures its financial stability, plans for its future, and hires the Head of School. The Head of School is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the School. The all volunteer Board is typically made up of a current and alumni parents and community members. The Board meets monthly throughout the school year to oversee school business decisions, future planning and to organize fundraising events. Terms for office are typically three years with each trustee bringing in a replacement when their term has ended. The Board works together with the Head of School to assure that VMS is operating to its fullest capabilities.
